Still Here, the New York denim brand known for the Cool Jean, has opened its first store outside New York City, setting up shop at 8627 Melrose Avenue in West Hollywood. It's the fifth store overall for the brand founded by husband-and-wife duo Maurice and Sonia Mosseri, and it marks Still Here's first real foothold on the West Coast.

What the City’s Melrose Traffic Count Shows

A City of West Hollywood traffic-count record lists a daily volume of 33,983 at a commercial counter between 8400 and 8500 Melrose Avenue, according to the City of West Hollywood data portal. That is a traffic measure, not a count of shoppers at Still Here’s storefront, and it does not establish the mix of nearby businesses or vacancies.

The West Hollywood shop opened on Friday, September 25, and carries Still Here's denim assortment, including the Cool Jean, Sport Jean and 11 Jean, as well as Colors, its line of basic tees and sweatshirts, according to WWD.

Maurice and Sonia Mosseri began Still Here in 2018, hand-painting denim before developing a wholesale business. The brand opened its first store in New York in 2022, WhatNow reports. It now has locations on Elizabeth Street, Madison Avenue and Wythe Avenue in Williamsburg. Vogue has also covered the brand's move west.

Why West Hollywood, and Why Now

Still Here told WWD that Los Angeles is its largest online market outside New York and its second-biggest market overall for online traffic and sales. The company framed that existing digital demand as a reason to open a physical location.

The brand's growth plans include retail expansion. Cofounder Maurice Mosseri said this year's goal was to strategically invest in organic retail expansion.

The store brings Still Here's denim and Colors basics together in person. WWD reported that the Colors line is manufactured in Los Angeles.

A Denim Grid and the Brand's Biggest Vintage Room Yet

The West Hollywood location was designed by Husband Wife, a New York-based studio led by Brittney Hart and Justin Capuco, according to WWD.

The store also includes a Vintage Room, which WWD described as the largest the brand has built so far. The space adds a vintage offering to the Melrose location alongside the brand's own merchandise.

What's Next for the Melrose Location

Shoppers looking for something exclusive to the West Coast will have to wait a bit longer. Beginning with the spring 2027 collection, the West Hollywood store will offer Los Angeles-exclusive colorways, according to WWD's reporting. For now, the Melrose Avenue location lets Los Angeles denim fans shop the brand's denim assortment and Colors in person, five stores and eight years after the Mosseris were hand-painting jeans out of a much smaller operation on the other coast.
