Hike times and ticket prices
NBC Los Angeles reports that the October 3 family hike is scheduled for 5:30 to 7 p.m., followed by an adult-only hike from 7:30 to 9 p.m. The family hike costs $15 for Arboretum members and $20 for non-members; the adult hike costs $20 for members and $25 for non-members, according to NBC Los Angeles. The Arboretum’s event page lists a Ghoulish Garden session from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
Month-long self-guided option
For visitors not attending a guided hike, NBC Los Angeles says Freaky Flora will run from October 1 through October 31, 2026. The self-guided tour is included with standard Arboretum admission, the outlet reports.
A site with a longer history
Before the grounds became a public botanical garden, the land later became part of Rancho Santa Anita, an agricultural outpost of Mission San Gabriel, according to the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden. Arcadia’s General Plan environmental review identifies the Baldwin’s Queen Anne Cottage, Hugo Reid Adobe and Santa Anita Depot as historic structures located within the Arboretum, according to the City of Arcadia.
