An NYPD officer was injured early Saturday during an encounter with a BMW traveling against traffic near 46th Street and Seventh Avenue in Times Square, according to the New York Post, which cited police. No arrest had been made and the investigation was ongoing, the report said.
Investigation
Police identified the vehicle as a 2020 BMW X3, according to the Post. Investigators located it near 46th Street and Seventh Avenue at about 3 a.m. Saturday. The officer attempted to stop the BMW as it traveled against traffic and held onto the passenger-side door before the vehicle drove away.
Officer’s condition
Other officers went to the scene after their colleague was taken to the ground, the Post reported. Video circulating online showed the encounter and the officer getting back on his feet after the BMW left. Police said he was taken to a local hospital with injuries to his left shoulder and knee, according to the report.
