Orlando is getting a weekend weather reset, with clear skies, dry air and a high near 84 degrees Saturday. Temperatures will dip to around 63 overnight, making this one of the more comfortable starts to fall so far this season.
Early Saturday readings were in the mid-60s under clear skies, with a light north wind helping keep the morning crisp by Central Florida standards. The National Weather Service in Melbourne expects little to no rain across the Orlando area today.
Sunny Weekend, Warmer Monday
Sunday should stay mostly sunny, with a high near 84 and an overnight low around 66. Monday turns warmer under sunny skies, reaching about 88 degrees before temperatures climb again Tuesday toward 89.
Rain chances remain minimal through Tuesday, although a few clouds may return at night. Winds should become light and variable Sunday and Monday, with offshore winds Monday and Tuesday backing onshore each afternoon.
Storm Chances Return Midweek
The National Weather Service says rain and storm chances return Tuesday onward, while lightning-storm chances return Wednesday onward. Rain chances increase Wednesday through Friday, with a 60% chance Wednesday and about 60% Thursday and Friday; highs are in the mid- to upper-80s Tuesday through Friday.
Showers and thunderstorms are possible later in the week across Central Florida. With more moisture returning, afternoon heat indexes could push into the mid- to upper 90s even when the sky starts out sunny.
East Coast Beaches Remain Dangerous
Orlando residents heading toward the Atlantic should be especially cautious this weekend. Forecasters are warning of a high risk of rip currents and rough surf, with breaking waves around 4 to 6 feet Saturday and hazardous beach conditions continuing at least through Sunday.
The weather may be pleasant inland, but entering the ocean is strongly discouraged while the surf remains rough. Beachgoers should follow posted warnings, stay near lifeguards and avoid swimming in areas affected by rip currents.
