A 38-year-old Orlando woman is facing felony charges after deputies say she came to a Polk City home uninvited, opened the door without permission, struck a resident in the face and yanked a necklace off her neck as she was being told to leave. Whitney Stone was arrested Thursday, September 10, 2026, and booked on charges of burglary with battery and robbery by sudden snatching.
According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office
, a deputy responded around 8:30 p.m. that evening to a residence on Sarah Drive in Polk City after a reported battery. Deputies were told that Stone had opened the door of the home without permission and yelled inside before an altercation broke out. Stone was identified by law enforcement as an acquaintance of the victim she targeted, according to the

Residents at the home told Stone to leave, but as she was walking out the door, she allegedly grabbed the victim's neck chain, according to the same outlet's account of the sequence of events. In the process, she reportedly scratched the victim's chest and nose and struck her in the face. Witnesses present at the home corroborated the victim's account of the altercation to responding deputies before Stone was taken into custody without incident, the report notes.
Felony Charges Carry Steep Potential Penalties
Stone was charged with burglary with battery, a first-degree felony, along with robbery by sudden snatching, a third-degree felony.
The second charge, robbery by sudden snatching, was listed as an F3 offense.
