A pedestrian struck by a vehicle on Florin Road east of Fawn Way in South Sacramento has died, and the driver who sped away has still not been found. California Highway Patrol investigators say the crash happened just after 11:30 p.m. on September 2, and the victim succumbed to their injuries on September 14.
CHP is asking the public for help identifying the vehicle believed to be involved in the crash. Investigators have asked anyone with dashcam footage from the area, or any information about the suspect vehicle, to come forward. Under California Vehicle Code § 20001, fleeing the scene of a crash that results in death or permanent, serious injury is punishable by two, three, or four years in state prison, or up to a year in county jail, along with fines between $1,000 and $10,000, according to Justia.

A 16-year-old, Isis Jones, was killed in a hit-and-run at the intersection of Florin Road and Fawn Way, and the driver fled, as reported by ABC10.
