Stilwell's arrest came after an investigation by the Peekskill Police Department's Detective Division, according to DailyVoice.com. Police say she gave the child Seroquel, a prescription antipsychotic medication, without the consent of the student's parents and without the knowledge or authorization of school administrators, per the outlet's reporting. Investigators have not identified the school where the alleged incident occurred.
Charges Include Felony Assault
Stilwell was charged with second-degree assault, a felony, along with second-degree reckless endangerment and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child, the outlet reports. Police have not disclosed whether the child experienced any effects from the medication, and the investigation remains ongoing, according to the same account.
Online records show Stilwell worked for the Peekskill City School District, though the district has said she was not employed there as of March 25, 2026, and had no further contact with students after that point, per the report. The district said concerns about Stilwell first arose in spring 2025, when she was removed from her school assignment, according to a district statement cited in the reporting.
