The 2400 block of Chandler Creek Boulevard is notable as the site of Double File Trail Elementary Leadership Academy, a pre-K through 5th grade campus within the Round Rock Independent School District that serves over 500 students, according to Round Rock ISD.
Chandler Creek is an unincorporated neighborhood outside Round Rock's city limits, which means primary law enforcement and emergency response duties fall to the Williamson County Sheriff's Office rather than Round Rock Police, per the Chandler Creek HOA. That jurisdictional split explains why county deputies, not municipal officers, answered Monday's call. Although Round Rock ISD maintains its own school district police department, local agencies including WCSO and Round Rock Police keep collaborative support agreements around district campuses like Double File Trail Elementary, following a joint leadership letter that established coordinated response protocols between municipal, county, and school district officers.
A Neighborhood With a Recent History of Major Dispatches
This is not the first time Chandler Creek has drawn a heavy law enforcement response. In May 2025, Williamson County Sheriff's deputies responded to a shooting on the nearby 2200 block of Chandler Creek Road, where two people were wounded during what officials described as an escalated dispute, the station's report from FOX 7 Austin noted.
