Saturday will remain partly sunny with another high near 82 and only a small chance of daytime rain. Conditions change Saturday night, when showers and thunderstorms become likely, with a 70% chance of precipitation.
Heavy Rain Threat Builds Saturday Night
The National Weather Service in Mount Holly says the main concern is heavy rain and flash flooding, particularly in urban areas and near smaller creeks and streams. The threat of damaging winds, large hail and tornadoes appears limited, but downpours could still create dangerous ponding and fast-rising water in poor-drainage areas.
Sunday starts wet, with showers expected before late morning and a chance of showers before 2 p.m. Temperatures may reach 84 degrees before drier air moves in, while anyone heading to the Jersey or Delaware shore should also note a moderate rip-current risk Saturday.
Sunny Stretch Returns Next Week
Sunday night should turn mostly clear, followed by sunny conditions Monday and mostly sunny conditions Tuesday with highs near 85 degrees. Wednesday looks warmer, reaching about 86, before a chance of showers returns Thursday.
