According to CBS News Texas, Dallas police officers responded to the area of 9800 Scyene Road around 10:20 p.m. Sunday after neighbors called to report a shooting involving two men who were arguing. A witness told police that one of the men pulled out a gun, shot the other, and fled the scene, the station reported. The shooting victim, whose name has not been released, was taken to the hospital in critical condition, per that same account.
Fox 4, however, reported a different timeline: police responded to a shooting call at North Prairie Creek Road and Undercliff Drive in Pleasant Grove around 5:30 p.m. Monday, according to Fox 4. That report also said the victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where they remained in critical condition. It is not clear from either report whether the two accounts describe the same shooting or two separate incidents.
Two Men Now Facing Charges
Despite the conflicting details on when and where the shooting occurred, Fox 4 reported that two people have been arrested and charged in connection with the Pleasant Grove shooting. Juan Salinas, 35, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, the outlet reported. Alexander Salinas, 24, was also arrested and charged with aggravated assault and discharge of a firearm at an occupied building, house or vehicle.
That account stands in contrast to CBS News Texas's earlier reporting, which stated that the suspect was still wanted. Neither report has been reconciled with the other, and it remains unclear whether the arrests described by Fox 4 pertain to the same shooting CBS described on Scyene Road.
Separately, WFAA reported that officers responded to a shooting call in the 9800 block of Scyene Road just before 10:30 p.m. local time, after two males had reportedly been in a fight. One male pushed the other, and the second male then produced a gun and shot the victim, according to officials cited by WFAA. The suspect had left the scene by the time police arrived and was not present when officers arrived, that report said. The victim was transported to a hospital with critical injuries, according to police.

Police have not released details about what led to the shooting or the relationship between the victim and the two suspects, Fox 4 reported. The investigation is ongoing, and no further information has been released, according to that outlet.
Pleasant Grove has seen other shootings in recent memory. A June shooting near Bruton Road left two people injured, including a man found in a crashed car covered in bullet holes, according to a separate Fox 4 report. And in March 2023, Dallas police searched for a suspect in a fatal shooting on Scyene Road, according to a Dallas Morning News search result, underscoring that this stretch of Pleasant Grove has drawn police attention before.
