Metro police officers swarmed the intersection of Lamb Boulevard and Lake Mead Boulevard on Saturday evening after reports of a shooting sent patrols racing to the East Las Vegas corridor. As of the initial report, officers had not located any victims, though the investigation remained active into the night.
According to KLAS, LVMPD officers responded to reports of a shooting near the intersection on September 26 and remained on scene as the investigation continued. Police asked drivers to find an alternative route around the area while the response played out, and the outlet reported no victims had been located at the time of the call.
LVMPD's Northeast Area Command operates out of a main station at 3750 Cecile Avenue, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
A Corridor With A Recent History
Saturday's response was not the first major police deployment at that exact intersection. In April, a high-speed chase that began near 12th Street and Bonanza Road ended at Lamb and Lake Mead, where a foot pursuit left both a pursuing officer and a felony suspect with minor injuries, per The Nevada Globe. After fleeing on foot into a nearby residential neighborhood, the suspect was taken into custody and was expected to face multiple felony charges, including assault on a protected person with a deadly weapon.
Gunfire Along Lake Mead Corridor Has Turned Deadly Before
Violence tied to the broader Lake Mead Boulevard corridor has turned deadly more than once this year. On June 3, LVMPD officers fatally shot an armed suspect near East Lake Mead Boulevard and North Sloan Lane after the individual fired shots into active traffic and pointed a gun at responding officers, according to KTNV Channel 13 Las Vegas. That shooting marked LVMPD's sixth officer-involved shooting of 2026 and resulted in no officer injuries.

What Charges Could Look Like If A Shooter Is Identified
Nevada law draws a sharp line between reckless gunfire and shots fired from a vehicle. Under Nevada Revised Statutes § 202.280, maliciously, wantonly, or negligently discharging a firearm in a public street or place of public resort is classified as a misdemeanor, even when no injuries or victims are found, according to Justia Law.
