Police are seeking information about a woman in connection with an August 31 incident involving a 4-year-old boy at Joyce Kilmer Park in the Bronx. News 12 reported that the incident occurred at about 6:30 a.m. near Walton Avenue and East 164th Street.
Information released about the incident
According to News 12, the woman was at the park with her son, while the boy was there with his mother. After the children playfought, the woman approached the 4-year-old and struck him above the eye, the outlet reported. Investigators told News 12 that the woman then left the park.
Paramedics took the boy to BronxCare Health System, where he was treated for minor injuries, News 12 reported. He is expected to recover physically. Police said the woman is believed to be in her 30s and was last seen wearing a gray shirt and black pants.

A separate Bronx park case
The Joyce Kilmer Park incident differs from a separate case reported by ABC7 New York. In that case, a 9-year-old boy was attacked at Grant Park near East 169th Street and Grant Avenue on April 17, and police later arrested a 15-year-old suspect. The cases involved different children, locations, suspect descriptions and reported circumstances.
