A road-rage dispute near Central, South Carolina turned violent Tuesday afternoon, leaving one person with a stab wound. Central police say officers responded around 12:30 p.m. to a reported stabbing stemming from a road-rage incident.
According to WSPA 7News, the road-rage incident escalated into a stabbing, and the person hurt sustained only minor injuries. Central police officers were called to the scene but determined the stabbing actually happened outside the town's jurisdiction, in the surrounding Pickens County area, the station reported.

Investigators believe the confrontation was an isolated incident, and the station's report notes there is no indication it was connected to any wider dispute. Officers told Fox Carolina the case is “an isolated incident” and that “there is not an ongoing threat to the community.”

The victim in that case suffered multiple life-threatening stab wounds to the torso and armpit area, per the warrant cited by WMBF News, and Fertel was charged with attempted murder.
No such charges have been announced in Tuesday's Pickens County-area case, and the extent of any injuries beyond “minor” has not been detailed by authorities. Central police say the investigation into what happened is ongoing.
