Sacramento police searched a home this week after reports of online threats linked to a Sacramento resident. Police said the search turned up firearms and other items, including materials that may be associated with making explosives; investigators have not publicly said whether they found an explosive device.
The Sacramento Police Department served a search warrant after the threats surfaced Monday, FOX40 reported. The department deployed its criminal intelligence unit and explosive ordnance detail for the search.
Police identified the resident as 35-year-old Lo Saetern of Sacramento. He was arrested Monday on charges related to making threats against a specific public location, according to FOX40. Police also served him with a gun violence restraining order, which they said bars him from possessing firearms.

The number of gun violence restraining orders (GVROs) issued annually statewide increased by 118% from 2020 to 2023, according to the California Department of Justice Office of Gun Violence Prevention. The office also reported that law enforcement officers petitioned for about 98% of GVROs issued statewide from 2016 to 2023. That statewide figure does not establish who sought the order in Saetern’s case.
What Investigators Say They Found
Police said the search recovered several firearms and ammunition, as well as digital devices and written materials. They also reported finding materials that may be connected to explosives manufacturing, FOX40 reported. Investigators have not publicly described the contents of the devices or written materials.
Police have not said whether they seized any explosives or whether anything found was functional. The investigation remains ongoing. The department also said agencies at the regional, state, and federal levels assisted with the case.
A Pattern of Local Bomb-Related Scares
This is not the only recent Sacramento-area case involving explosives allegations. In a separate incident reported by fox40.com, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office said it discovered more than two pounds of explosives inside a suspect's residence following a bomb threat at the Arden-Dimick Library, as reported by FOX40. It is not established whether that case and this week's search are connected in any way, and no evidence ties the two incidents together beyond their shared setting in the Sacramento area.
Sacramento has also seen explosives allegations surface at its airport this year. The Transportation Security Administration announced in June that a Sacramento man had been charged with bringing explosive material into Sacramento International Airport, per a report from Transportation Security Administration. A separate case reported by ABC7 Chicago around the same time described a man, identified as Kimani Osayande Jones, who also uses the last name Jackson, attempting to bring an improvised explosive device along with a knife and other bladed weapons through airport security.
Investigation Continues
For now, Sacramento police say their investigation into Saetern remains active, and they have not released further details about the specific threats that triggered the search or the platform on which they were allegedly made. Residents near the searched home have not been named or quoted in police statements released so far.
No additional court dates, charges, or bail information have been made public in connection with the arrest as of this week.
