The latest outlook from the National Weather Service calls for a shift toward onshore south-to-west winds and weakening winds Sunday.
Heat Builds Through Thursday
Monday will reach about 86 degrees, while Tuesday will be near 88 under sunny skies. Warming will continue into the middle and latter part of the week.
The warmup follows the Saturday forecast, which had Sunday closer to 86 and Tuesday near 88, according to Hoodline’s earlier update. Overnight lows should remain manageable, mostly ranging from 58 to 62 degrees through Thursday.
Dry In Town, Small Storm Chance In The Sierra
Friday is expected to remain dry. The weather service says isolated thunderstorms could develop in the Sierra south of Highway 50 on Monday, bringing a small but real chance of lightning and sudden gusty winds.
For Sacramento plans, mornings and evenings will offer the easiest conditions for longer outdoor activities once the workweek heat arrives. Shade, water and a break from the afternoon sun will become increasingly useful Wednesday and Thursday, when moderate heat impacts may be possible across the Valley and Delta.
