Monday Warms Up Under Clear Skies
Monday should stay sunny and dry, with breezy northerly flow in the Sacramento Valley. Sunday night's low is forecast near 53 degrees. Sacramento itself is not expecting rain, although a slight chance of showers and an isolated thunderstorm remains Monday afternoon and evening along the Sierra crest south of Highway 50.
The National Weather Service says low humidity and periodic breezy winds will bring elevated fire-weather conditions to parts of interior Northern California from Monday through Wednesday. The concern is greater around dry grass and brush, especially outside the city and toward the foothills.
Tuesday Brings the Sharpest Heat Jump
Tuesday is expected to reach 93 degrees in Sacramento under sunny skies. Broader parts of the Sacramento Valley could see north-to-east gusts of 15 to 25 mph, while daytime humidity drops into the teens in some northern areas.
The new outlook expands and sharpens the warm spell flagged in Hoodline's Sunday forecast, which had already pointed to a hot Tuesday. Anyone using outdoor flames should keep them away from dry vegetation, and outdoor plans will be more comfortable with water, shade and an earlier start.
Heat Hangs On Through the Weekend
Wednesday will reach about 91 degrees, followed by 94 Thursday and 92 Friday, with elevated temperatures continuing through Saturday. Overnight lows are expected to stay in the upper 50s, offering some relief after sunset but not much of a cooldown during the daytime stretch.
No precipitation is expected for Sacramento through Saturday, and no watches, warnings or advisories are listed for the city. The best windows for longer outdoor activities will be the morning and evening, before the dry afternoon heat takes over.
