Temperatures are expected to climb to about 96 degrees, while the heat index could reach 101. The National Weather Service says skies will stay mostly sunny for much of Tuesday, with calm winds initially and variable winds below 3 knots later.
Storm Chance Arrives Late Tuesday
A 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms develops during the afternoon and continues into the early evening. Most neighborhoods will likely stay dry, but an isolated slow-moving storm could bring a brief heavy downpour, gusty winds and locally higher rainfall totals.
Severe weather is not expected, and no watches, warnings or advisories are in effect for the San Antonio area. Still, anyone with outdoor plans should keep an eye on the sky late Tuesday, particularly if storms begin building near the city.
Heat Sticks Around Through The Weekend
Wednesday will have a high near 96. Thursday through Saturday will remain hot, with a drier pattern later in the week, while Sunday will remain in the 90s.
Overnight temperatures offer limited relief, dipping only to the mid or upper 70s through the weekend. Rain chances remain low through the weekend, with a possible shift to a more active pattern next week.
For outdoor work, exercise or errands, the cooler morning and evening hours will be the better bet. Drink water regularly, take breaks from the heat and check on older adults, children and pets during the afternoon peak.
