Rain is expected to begin after 7 a.m. Wednesday, with a 90% chance of precipitation and rainfall totals between a quarter-inch and half-inch. The National Weather Service says winds could gust between 20 and 35 mph across much of Western Washington, creating a risk of downed limbs and isolated power outages.
Seattle's forecast calls for a high near 68 degrees Wednesday, followed by more rain Wednesday night and a low around 54. Wind advisories are posted for coastal areas, Island County and San Juan County, while the central Puget Sound region is expected to see strong but generally lower winds.
Thursday Brings Showers And A Chance Of Thunderstorms
Thursday will stay unsettled, with rain likely before late morning and showers or thunderstorms possible from late morning through the afternoon. The high should reach only about 65 degrees, and embedded lightning cannot be ruled out with heavier showers.
Conditions remain cooler and changeable Friday through Labor Day. Friday and Saturday bring scattered shower chances, Saturday could turn mostly sunny after a damp morning, and Sunday and Monday remain partly sunny with highs in the upper 60s and additional chances of light rain.

Tuesday is the best window for outdoor plans, although southwesterly winds will increase during the afternoon and evening. By Wednesday, drivers should allow extra time for wet roads, and residents may want to secure loose patio furniture before the gustier weather arrives.
