Seven men from Clark County, Indiana are facing charges ranging from child exploitation to possession of child sexual abuse material after Jeffersonville police executed more than 30 search warrants and seized thousands of illicit files during several investigations last month. The arrests, announced this week, stem from work by the department's dedicated Internet Crimes Against Children unit, which police say conducted several investigations last month.
According to WLKY, the men face a range of felony counts, several involving children under 12 years old. The report lists charges including 17 counts of child exploitation involving a child under 12, three counts of child exploitation involving the use of force, one count of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, one count of possession of methamphetamine with a firearm, 17 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material involving a child under 12, and 20 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material involving a child under 12.
Additional Suspects Face Overlapping Charges
The report also lists five counts of possession of child sexual abuse material involving a child under 12, three counts involving the use of force, two additional counts of possession of child sexual abuse material, eight counts of possession of child sexual abuse material involving a child under 12, one count of marijuana possession, three counts of child exploitation involving a child under 12, three additional counts of child exploitation, one count of animal cruelty, six counts of child exploitation involving a child under 12, and five counts of child solicitation.
Investigators say the case involved a wide multi-agency response. Indiana State Police, Kentucky State Police, the Clark County Sheriff's Office, the Scott County Sheriff's Office, and the U.S. Secret Service's Louisville Field Office all participated in the arrests, per the same WLKY report. Jeffersonville police said they seized thousands of files containing child sexual abuse material during the searches, and the department expects more arrests as the investigation continues.
A Fast-Growing Local Unit With New Forensic Muscle
The scale of this case did not happen overnight. Jeffersonville Police Department launched its dedicated ICAC unit in June 2025, and its digital forensics division processed 116 phones, 46 computers, and more than 72 terabytes of data in just its first seven months of operation, according to the Jeffersonville Police Department. That buildup gave detectives the technical capacity to sift through the volume of digital evidence this investigation reportedly generated.
The department has leaned on that infrastructure before. Earlier this year, two southern Indiana men were arrested on multiple CSAM charges in separate cyber-tip investigations. Just weeks before this week's arrests, five men landed in a Columbus sex sting that also involved Jeffersonville police alongside Indiana State Police and regional sheriff's departments in an undercover online operation in Bartholomew County, as reported by WTHR.
Part of a Statewide Surge in Cyber Tips
These local cases are unfolding against a dramatic statewide backdrop. Indiana's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received 29,635 cyber tips from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children in 2025, a 38 percent jump over the prior year, and logged nearly 3,000 more tips in January alone. Over the year leading into 2026, the statewide task force added 50 officers, resulting in 499 arrests and the rescue of 126 children across Indiana.
That growth reflects a federal pipeline that increasingly drives local police work. Cyber tips from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children are part of that pipeline. Just days before the Clark County arrests, Indiana State Police ICAC detectives arrested a 46-year-old Georgetown man after 12 NCMEC tips, Hoodline reported. The statewide task force includes municipal departments, county sheriff's offices, and federal agencies, according to IN.gov.
Legal Consequences Under State Law
Indiana law includes felony classifications for these offenses.
Those legal consequences now hang over several of the Clark County defendants, whose charges include counts explicitly tied to children under 12 and use of force. All of the men face allegations that remain unproven in court.
