A 24-year-old Sharon man died early Thursday morning after he was found with critical injuries, and the county coroner ruled his death a homicide. Billy E. Colwell was rushed to a hospital but did not survive, according to authorities.
Police were called to the 200 block of S. Myers Avenue around 1:30 a.m. Thursday for an incident involving Colwell, according to a report from Yahoo News. Officers located Colwell with critical injuries and took him to the hospital, where he died, the outlet reported.
Coroner Confirms Cause of Death
The Mercer County Coroner's Office released a statement identifying the cause of death as a penetrating wound to the chest, and formally ruled the death a homicide, per the same report. CBS News Pittsburgh also reported that the death was ruled a homicide.
