Ames police are investigating after a suspect fired several shots into the air outside a building in the 3800 block of Tripp Street Sunday evening, following an argument involving multiple people. No injuries were reported, and as of Monday no arrests had been made.
Officers received the shots-fired call at 5:51 p.m. Sunday, according to the Iowa State Daily. Ames Police Sgt. Amber Christian said the shots were fired outside a building in the 3800 block of Tripp Street, and a department news release said the shooting stemmed from an argument involving multiple people.
Christian said the incident remains under investigation and that no arrests have been made. Police are interviewing people involved as the case continues, and the department said it does not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public.
