No injuries were reported, and a person of interest was detained after deputies found a vehicle matching the description of one that fled the scene.
According to the ABC10, the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office received multiple calls reporting an altercation in front of the school and callers described hearing multiple shots fired. Deputies say no injuries have been reported in connection with the gunfire. The person inside the vehicle that fled the area led deputies on a pursuit that ended in the Twain Harte area, and law enforcement maintained heavy activity around the school afterward while asking the public to avoid the area.
The sheriff's office says the investigation remains active and has pledged to release updates as they become available. Key details remain unresolved, including the identity and motive of the detained person, whether any firearms were recovered during or after the pursuit, and what charges, if any, the District Attorney's Office may pursue. About 50 students and some teachers were on campus, and staff initiated a shelter-in-place lasting a little over an hour.

Tuesday's gunfire report also comes as Measure C, a $3.4 million bond measure, is set for the November 3 general election ballot after a governing-body vote.
