Las Vegas wakes to clear skies and an 84-degree start Wednesday, but the valley is heading into its hottest stretch of the week. Temperatures will climb to about 105 degrees Wednesday afternoon, with even more heat arriving Thursday.
Extreme Heat Warning Covers Thursday
Thursday is expected to bring a high near 106 degrees, with an Extreme Heat Warning in effect from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. across the Las Vegas Valley. The National Weather Service says dangerously hot conditions could push valley temperatures into the 105-to-110-degree range.
Wednesday and Thursday nights will offer little relief, with lows around 85 to 86 degrees and mostly clear skies. Rain chances remain effectively near zero in Las Vegas, even as isolated thunderstorms remain possible in some surrounding mountain areas.
Weekend Winds Bring Some Relief
Friday stays sunny and hot, with a high near 105, before temperatures ease to around 102 Saturday and 97 Sunday. The tradeoff is wind: south-southwest winds could reach 16 to 24 mph Saturday, with a few stronger gusts possible across the region.
By Monday and Tuesday, highs are expected to settle near 98 degrees, while overnight lows fall into the mid-70s. Until then, officials recommend drinking plenty of fluids, limiting strenuous outdoor activity during the afternoon and never leaving children or pets in parked vehicles.
