South winds are expected to build to 13 mph Saturday, with gusts up to 22 mph; skies should remain mostly sunny.
Clouds are expected to increase Saturday night, with a low around 76 degrees. Sunday’s forecast calls for a high near 93 and south winds gusting up to 29 mph.
Rain Chances Rise Monday
A more noticeable change is forecast Monday: scattered showers could develop after 11 a.m., and the chance of showers and thunderstorms is 60%. The high is expected to reach only about 81 degrees.
Showers and thunderstorms may linger Monday night as temperatures fall to around 65 degrees. Tuesday also has a chance of showers and thunderstorms, with a high near 84.
Climate context and storm safety
The National Weather Service Las Vegas climate report lists a normal high of 91 degrees for Sept. 26 and a record high of 105 set in 1947. The forecast high near 97 is above the normal and below the record. For thunderstorms, the Clark County Regional Flood Control District advises people to avoid flooded areas and drive safely if travel is necessary.
