Rain And Thunderstorms Arrive Sunday
Light rain could begin during the morning, with showers and thunderstorms most likely between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Las Vegas. Sunday’s high should reach about 85 degrees, with southeast winds of 7 to 10 mph and gusts up to 20 mph.
Most valley rainfall is expected to stay modest, generally between 0.15 and 0.30 inches, but heavier cells could produce sudden ponding or isolated flash flooding. Higher elevations near Mount Charleston face a greater chance of soaking rain, while runoff from the Spring Mountains could create problems around Pahrump.
The storm setup is a sharper update from Saturday’s Hoodline forecast, which had described a narrower early-day rain threat before the afternoon storm chances increased.
Labor Day Turns Sunny Before Triple Digits Return
Monday should be sunny and dry, with a high near 94 degrees and a low around 77. Tuesday reaches about 97, followed by highs near 102 Wednesday and 104 Thursday and Friday.
Saturday remains sunny but slightly cooler, with a high near 101. For Sunday outdoor plans, residents should avoid flooded roadways and washes, move indoors when thunder is nearby, and be ready for fast changes in visibility and wind during heavier showers.
