The outlet notes that a Baltimore-area restaurant also named Slurp Noodles was previously announced for that region, and that the Rockville concept signed on to join Twinbrook Quarter last year, per a prior MoCoShow report. The dossier backing the Rockville project shows Saul Centers finalized lease plans in April 2025 designating Unit 9, a 3,893-square-foot corner space at Chapman Avenue and Halpine Road, for Slurp Noodles, with the unit sitting directly adjacent to Units 8 and 7.
The Baltimore-area Slurp Noodle Bar, which is not confirmed as the same operator behind the Rockville location, is owned by Jerry Chan, who also opened Lanzhou Pull Noodle at Rio Lakefront in Gaithersburg, per MoCoShow's reporting. The new signings continue a fast buildout inside Saul Centers' 18.4-acre master plan for Twinbrook Quarter, which envisions up to 1,865 residential units, 473,000 square feet of retail space, and 431,000 square feet of office space across 11 buildings surrounding a central public park, according to Saul Centers. The project replaces a former suburban strip mall adjacent to the Twinbrook Metrorail Red Line station.
Phase One Fills In Around a Booming Grocery Anchor
Saul Centers delivered Phase I of Twinbrook Quarter on October 1, 2024, featuring 452 residential apartments at The Milton, where 98 percent of units, or 443 of 452, were leased as of May 2026, the company's own reporting shows. That residential surge has helped drive foot traffic to ground-floor retailers still filling in around it.
The retail anchor tying it all together is an 80,000-square-foot Wegmans supermarket employing roughly 400 staff members, which officially opened in June 2025 as the chain's second Montgomery County location, offering two hours of free customer parking, as reported by The MoCo Show. The grocery store sits along Festival Street, where Twinbrook Quarter's streetscape planning has paired quick-stop beverage and dining spots with grocery shoppers.
A Growing Roster of Restaurants and Shops
Terra Gaucha Brazilian Steakhouse opened a 7,000-square-foot, 200-seat restaurant at 1651 Chapman Avenue in Twinbrook Quarter on December 28, 2025, marking its first location in Maryland and the greater Washington, D.C. region, according to Patch. The restaurant features traditional rodízio-style tableside carving and three private dining rooms.
ZiZa Kabob opened its first full-service Montgomery County location at 1675 Chapman Avenue this September, operating as fast-casual during lunch and full table service for dinner, serving 100 percent halal Afghan cuisine.
