A high-intensity Pilates studio chain is reportedly headed for The Lakes at Thousand Oaks, the shopping and dining center at 2200 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd. Solidcore's pending arrival was announced by the center itself on social media, with the studio rumored to land next to California Pizza Kitchen, though no opening date has been set.
As reported by WhatNow, Solidcore executives were unavailable to comment before publication, and the company has not announced a timeline for the Thousand Oaks location. The brand already operates nine studios across Los Angeles County, in Culver City, Encino, Hollywood, Marina del Rey, Pasadena, Santa Monica, West Hollywood, West LA, and Woodland Hills, and lists 193 studios nationwide on its website, per the same report.
Solidcore describes its workouts as high-intensity, low-impact strength training built for lasting results, combining Pilates-inspired reformer equipment with controlled movements the company calls science-backed on its website. The method is designed to produce visible, tangible improvements, according to the outlet's reporting.
A Reshuffled Tenant Mix at The Lakes
The Lakes' current roster already includes Erewhon, SunLife Organics, and Fogo de Chão, and WhatNow reports that Savta, PopUp Bagels, and Sora Handroll Bar are also allegedly coming soon to the center. That lines up with separate local reporting: Savta, a California- and French-inspired restaurant, and hand-roll spot Sora Handroll Bar are planned for the property, and both originated at the Original Farmers Market in Los Angeles, according to the Conejo Valley Guide.
PopUp Bagels appears to be coming to The Lakes and is expected to open next to SunLife Organics, per Kevin Goldman / LA Chef Realtor. The chain is expanding elsewhere in Southern California too, with a Studio City location on Ventura Boulevard in the works — a market Hoodline has previously tracked.
Erewhon Joins Tenant Changes at The Lakes
Erewhon opened at The Lakes in August 2026 in the former Lassen's Natural Food & Vitamins space, marking its first Ventura County location, according to Robert Edie Real Estate.
The grocer's arrival comes amid tenant changes at the 21-year-old center. After years of churn among sit-down restaurants, The Lakes includes Erewhon, fast-casual names like PopUp Bagels, and specialty dining from Savta Hospitality Group.
Housing Plans and the Boulevard's Future
The Thousand Oaks City Council approved Caruso's request in November 2021 to build a 165-unit residential building on part of The Lakes' parking lot, according to Robert Edie Real Estate. The housing plan would add 165 residential units to the site, adding a residential component to the center.
The Lakes at Thousand Oaks first opened in 2005 as a 7.5-acre, 48,000-square-foot outdoor shopping and dining destination next to the Civic Arts Plaza, per the Conejo Valley Guide. The center features two artificial lakes and landscaped grounds, according to Caruso's own property listing.
