MEDIC was called to the scene for a person struck by a vehicle, and authorities have not yet said what led up to the collision.
According to Queen City News, the person was taken to the hospital following the early Tuesday incident, and CMPD has not released details on what caused the crash. The outlet's report does not specify the exact time or intersection where the pedestrian was struck, only that the location falls within a residential stretch of South Charlotte.

Statewide, pedestrian traffic fatalities increased 12% in 2024 compared to the prior year, per the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles' 2024 Traffic Crash Facts report.
Nationally, pedestrians accounted for 18% of all traffic fatalities in 2024, according to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration data.
