Springhill Restaurant, the Pflugerville eatery at 2505 W. Pecan St., is scheduled to close permanently on October 16, 2026, after opening in 1985. Owner Jack Payne told employees about the decision on Wednesday, September 9, according to Community Impact.
A Longtime Owner Reflects on Generations of Regulars
Payne said the decision followed more than 40 years of serving the community. As reported by Community Impact, Payne said, “We appreciate the loyalty of the customers and all the people that have come here for years and years, all the different generations.” Springhill's menu included shrimp and catfish dinner platters, burgers, sandwiches, and peach cobbler.
Carroll Humphrey opened Springhill in 1985, according to Community Impact. Its long presence made the restaurant part of Pflugerville's dining history.

Springhill's closing follows the expected closure of Brotherton's Black Iron Barbecue, which was expected to serve its final customers on August 30. MySA, as reported by Hoodline, cited higher beef prices and parking problems. Springhill's final service is scheduled for October 16.
