A new country-western bar and restaurant called Spur Saloon is planned for 9000 Windsor Road, across from Windsor’s SMART station. The project is being developed by Eric Foster and Christina Keeney Foster, who also own Grata Italian Eatery, according to Sonoma Magazine.
The venue’s operating status remains unclear. Sonoma Magazine described Spur Saloon as opening in August 2026, while another published account said the business was not yet open when it reported on a March 2026 Minor Use Permit hearing. The available accounts do not establish whether the permit process has been completed or when regular service began.
A new use for a former tasting-room address
The address previously housed Old Redwood Brewing Company. The Bohemian described Old Redwood as a beer operation centered on tastings and beer-club memberships rather than a conventional brewpub. Spur Saloon would shift the space toward food, cocktails and evening entertainment.
The planned interior includes a horseshoe-shaped bar, saddle-style seating and a separate dining area. Sonoma Magazine reported that the limited kitchen would use an oven, smoker and induction burners, with a menu including bison sliders, brisket tamales, buffalo chicken dip, ceviche and other bar food.
The station-area setting
Windsor’s Station Area Plan envisions a transit-oriented, diverse mixed-use downtown designed to support and benefit from SMART service.
The town says the SMART station is just steps from the Windsor Town Green and improves access to local shops, restaurants and events by train, according to its station description. That planning context explains why a restaurant and bar at this address fits the area’s intended mix of uses, but it does not establish that the station caused the Spur Saloon project or guarantee its opening date.
Food, drinks and entertainment are part of the proposal
The concept includes a full-service bar and Western-themed programming. Plans include occasional live music and karaoke, as well as a family-friendly policy before 9 p.m. and 21-and-over admission afterward.
Those details describe the announced concept, not independently confirmed operating conditions. Until the permit record or an official venue listing clarifies the status, hours and final programming, Spur Saloon is best understood as a planned or newly launched business whose opening timeline remains unsettled.
