What official homicide data show
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, a homicide cleared in a given calendar year may involve a killing from an earlier year, so annual clearance figures should not be read as counts of only homicides committed that year. The 2016 date provides general context for Orono's death but does not describe the circumstances of his killing.
As of Monday, a mug shot of Harris had not been made available, the report said. The report also did not say when Harris would appear in court or provide further information about his custody status.
