Judson ISD police are investigating a stabbing that unfolded at Metzger Middle School on Wednesday morning, with district officials confirming at least two students were involved. A weapon was located during the response and immediately confiscated, and the school was placed on hold while administrators worked to contain the situation.
According to KSAT, the incident happened during a scheduled lockdown drill, and school trustee Jose Macias told the outlet he was informed that a girl stabbed a boy at the middle school. Macias also said he was told the girl had multiple knives inside her backpack, though that detail has not been independently confirmed by police or the district.
Judson Independent School District, in a statement reported by WOAI, said a student-related incident prompted administrators to place Metzger Middle School on hold. District officials said they found and confiscated the weapon as part of the response.
Campus Secured, Discipline and Law Enforcement Review Underway
“The situation was quickly contained,” the district said, according to the same KSAT report. Judson ISD added that appropriate disciplinary action is being taken and that the matter has been referred to law enforcement for further review.

Wednesday's stabbing adds to a run of weapons-related scares at Texas campuses in recent weeks. Earlier this month, a Somerset elementary school student brought a weapon to campus, with no injuries reported, the district told KSAT. Somerset ISD has since said it is evaluating school safety and security measures following that incident.
A separate case in the Austin area saw a loaded gun confiscated from a student's backpack at Stony Point High School, an incident in which two officers were injured, according to KXAN. Judson ISD has not identified the law enforcement agency now reviewing the Metzger Middle School case, and the circumstances that led to Wednesday's confrontation remain unclear.
