Tampa-based drink shop STORM plans to open its fourth storefront at 2600 4th Street North in St. Petersburg before November 1. The company’s arrival will add its customizable electrolyte drinks and plant-based protein shakes to a corridor that is also seeing a tenant transition at the site.
The location is currently occupied by Grand Kitchen & Bath, which is moving to the other side of the building to make room for STORM, according to St Pete Rising. Grand Kitchen & Bath says it has operated remodeling showrooms in the Tampa Bay area since 2004 and is a licensed Florida general contractor, according to the company’s website.
A Tampa expansion with St. Pete roots
STORM was founded by Molly Mills and Cole Schaller. Mills grew up in St. Petersburg and had initially hoped to open there, but real estate costs led the founders to launch in Tampa instead, according to Tampa Magazine.
The first STORM opened in 2021 at 3401 South MacDill Avenue in Tampa after Mills and Schaller put $16,000 into the business, St Pete Rising reports. The company later added locations in Westshore and near the University of Tampa. STORM’s website currently lists three Tampa storefronts, making the St. Petersburg shop the company’s first location outside Tampa proper, according to the company’s site.
By April 2026, STORM employed more than 50 women across its three existing locations, according to Tampa Magazine. The founders have said they plan to expand through Tampa Bay and elsewhere in Florida while keeping the stores corporate-owned rather than franchising, according to St Pete Rising.
What STORM sells
The menu is built around 32-ounce drinks that customers can order with different caffeine levels and add-ons such as carbonation, extra flavor, creatine, and collagen. The drinks use an electrolyte and vitamin blend containing ingredients including magnesium, potassium, zinc, vitamins B6 and B12, green tea extract, and ginseng, according to St Pete Rising.
STORM also sells plant-based protein shakes, including peanut butter, banana, strawberry, coffee, greens, and chocolate-based flavors. The company describes the menu as an alternative to more conventional coffee and energy-drink purchases, while its reported base price for a 32-ounce drink remains $6.
The reported caffeine range runs from 90 milligrams for a half-caffeine option to 185 milligrams for a full-caffeine drink. For context, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration says 400 milligrams of caffeine per day is an amount not generally associated with negative effects for most adults, while individual sensitivity varies. That general guidance does not establish that every STORM serving is appropriate for every customer. FDA guidance also notes that caffeine content and personal tolerance matter.
What remains to be confirmed
The company has announced a target of opening before November 1, but the materials available here do not provide a specific opening day, hours, permitting status, or final St. Petersburg menu. Those details may change as the Grand Kitchen & Bath relocation and the build-out progress.
For now, the 4th Street North project represents STORM’s next step after expanding from a single South Tampa shop to three Tampa locations—and brings the company to the city where its co-founder grew up.
