The National Weather Service puts Monday’s rain chance at 50%, with the most active window running through the afternoon and early evening. A few stronger storms could produce frequent lightning, heavy downpours and wind gusts up to 50 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
Rainfall totals will generally be modest, but repeated storms could drop 1 to 3 inches in localized areas. That means outdoor plans, afternoon errands and the evening commute may get interrupted quickly, even if the morning looks perfectly quiet.
Tuesday Stays Hot Before A Wetter Midweek
Tuesday will bring a high near 90 and a 70% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Storm chances rise sharply Wednesday, when the forecast calls for a 70% chance of rain and storms during the day.
A cool front begins changing the feel of the forecast Thursday. Highs will remain in the upper 80s, but north-northeast winds could reach 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.
Cooler, Breezier Weekend Ahead
Drier air should move into Central Florida late in the week, lowering rain chances to around 20% to 40% Friday and into the weekend. Highs are forecast to fall into the mid-80s, with breezy northeast winds Friday and overnight lows dipping into the upper 60s in some inland areas by Saturday night and Sunday morning.
