Tuesday should stay mostly sunny, with southerly winds and brief gusts of 20 to 25 knots. The National Weather Service Cleveland office says showers and thunderstorms could arrive between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m., followed by a better chance of storms into early Wednesday.

Why Heavy Rain Can Affect Sewers and Waterways
Heavy summer rain can also affect Cleveland’s sewer system. According to the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District, Cleveland’s combined sewers carry sewage and stormwater in the same pipe, and heavy rainfall can push the system beyond capacity, causing discharges to area waterways. When a combined sewer overflow is occurring, the district says residents should avoid recreational contact with water bodies for at least 48 hours after a rain event.
Wednesday will remain mostly cloudy, with showers and thunderstorms likely and a high near 80 degrees, as noted by National Weather Service. Another round of unsettled weather is expected Thursday, with showers and thunderstorms continuing through late Thursday.
Friday offers the week’s best break, with partly sunny skies and a high around 76 degrees. Warmer weather returns Saturday, but scattered showers are possible during the day before thunderstorms become more likely Saturday night and Sunday.
