Sacramento is headed for a warmer Saturday afternoon with a high near 86. South winds will strengthen through the day, bringing gusts of 25 to 35 mph and a heightened fire-weather concern across parts of Northern California.
Rain is not on the weekend menu. The National Weather Service describes breezy, generally dry conditions.
Weekend Winds Bring A Regional Fire-Weather Concern
A Red Flag Warning is in effect from 11 a.m. PDT Saturday through 11 a.m. PDT Monday for portions of the Sacramento Valley and northern foothills. Sacramento County is not among the listed watch zones, but the combination of gusty winds and low daytime humidity will make outdoor burning and any spark-producing activity especially risky across the region.
Sunday will be a little cooler, with a high near 83 and patchy smoke possible between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Winds will ease compared with Saturday.
Upper-80s Return Next Week
The brief cool-down will not last long. Temperatures will remain near normal from Tuesday onward.
