The National Weather Service Jacksonville is warning of dangerous beach conditions across coastal Duval County. A high rip current risk continues through late Saturday night, breaking waves could reach 6 to 9 feet through early Saturday, and minor coastal flooding is possible around high tide through Saturday morning.
Minor flooding is also possible around high tide in the St. Johns River basin through the weekend. Inexperienced swimmers should stay out of the water, while anyone entering the surf should remain near a lifeguard and never try to swim directly against a rip current.
Clear, Cooler Weekend Ahead
Friday winds are forecast at 8 to 15 mph with gusts to 20 mph inland, and 15 to 20 mph with gusts of 25 to 30 mph along the coast and St. Johns River basin, before easing Friday night. Skies should turn clear after sunset, with temperatures dropping to around 62 degrees overnight.
Saturday, September 26, looks sunny with a high near 81, followed by another cool night around 61. Sunday, September 27, brings mostly sunny skies and a warmer high near 85, giving inland residents a pleasant break before the heat begins rebuilding.

Monday, September 28, will be sunny in the morning with clouds building later, while Tuesday, September 29, is forecast to have a high of 89 degrees. Overnight lows will rise from the upper 60s into the lower 70s.
