Two people inside the SUV suffered serious injuries in the crash, which happened around 10:41 p.m. in Gloucester Township, according to police.
Venza Crossed Into Northbound Lane Before Impact
The Venza was traveling south on Black Horse Pike when it veered into the northbound lane and struck the rear of the Accord, according to gloucestercitynews.net. The impact sent the Accord spinning before it came to rest along the roadway, the outlet reported. The Venza kept going, plowing through a utility pole guide wire, landscaping and a freestanding brick business sign with an electronic display before flipping over in the parking lot of a nearby business.
Both vehicles sustained significant damage, per the same account. As Daily Voice reported, Virtua paramedics and Inspira EMTs assisted Blenheim Fire Department firefighters at the scene as crews worked to free the trapped occupants.
Firefighters Free Trapped Occupants, Two Rushed To Hospital
Blenheim Fire Department firefighters extricated both occupants of the Toyota, according to the gloucestercitynews.net report. Both were then transported by ambulance to a local medical center for treatment of serious injuries, the outlet noted. The driver of the Honda Accord, meanwhile, reported no injuries at the scene, the report states.
Police have not released the identities of anyone involved, with authorities withholding that information while the investigation remains ongoing, per the same account. The crash is now in the hands of the Gloucester Township Police Department Traffic Safety Unit's Serious Crash Investigation Team, which is examining exactly what led the SUV to cross into oncoming traffic.
Separate 2025 Crash Killed One Person
In a separate 2025 crash, one person died and two others were seriously injured after a sedan and an SUV forcefully collided just before 10:15 p.m. at the intersection of Berlin-Cross Keys Road and Johnson Road, according to Patch. Firefighters extricated all three people involved in that crash, who were seriously injured, and the SUV driver later died from his injuries, Patch reported. Police withheld the identities of everyone involved in that crash as well, citing the ongoing investigation.
