What We Don't Yet Know
As of Thursday morning, LAFD's public information had not addressed the fire's cause, whether anyone was hurt, or the extent of damage to the row of businesses. The identities of the businesses or occupants inside the affected buildings also had not been released. Hoodline will update this story as the fire department releases more information about the incident.
A Familiar Stretch of Foothill Boulevard
This is not the first time firefighters have responded to flames along Foothill Boulevard. In October 2021, LAFD crews were called to a reported structure fire in the 13400 block of West Foothill Boulevard, according to a report from LAFD's Flickr archive. Firefighters arriving at that scene found a one-story, vacant home fully engulfed, and 26 firefighters working in defensive mode extinguished that non-injury fire in 22 minutes.
LAFD has also responded to other fires elsewhere in the San Fernando Valley.
LAFD continues to urge residents to call or text 911 to report emergencies.
