A 30-year-old man, a 29-year-old woman and a 3-year-old boy were seriously injured Wednesday night after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the street near the intersection of Lehua and Ashley avenues in Pearl City. The crash happened at about 7 p.m., according to emergency responders who rushed to the scene.
Honolulu Emergency Medical Services responded with multiple units, as reported by Hawaii News Now. Paramedics treated all three victims at the scene before transporting them to a nearby hospital, where they remained in serious condition.
Toddler Among the Injured
The three pedestrians were crossing the street when they were hit by a vehicle, per EMS. Details on how the crash unfolded, who was driving, or whether the driver remained at the scene have not been released.
A Pattern of Pedestrian Danger in Pearl City
Wednesday's crash adds to a string of serious traffic incidents in the same area this year. An 80-year-old pedestrian hit by a vehicle in Pearl City in June later died from her injuries, Honolulu police said, according to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.
Earlier this month, a 45-year-old woman was hospitalized with critical injuries following a two-car collision in Pearl City, as reported by KITV. That crash occurred on Waimano Home Road at around 1:40 p.m., a separate account from Hawaii News Now noted.
