ArtWalk Ventura takes place Sept. 26 and 27 across Downtown Ventura and the Ventura Avenue area. Admission is free, and no ticket is needed, according to Gold Coast Transit.
Getting around the festival
Gold Coast Transit is offering free bus service for the festival. Attendees can use Routes 6 and 16, according to edhat. The transit district says riders can obtain up to four unlimited-ride passes through its event information.
The festival area extends between Downtown Main Street and Ventura Avenue. Stops identified by edhat include the Museum of Ventura County, Vita Art Center, Art City Studios, Working Artists Ventura and Bell Arts Factory.
Downtown parking
According to the City of Ventura, downtown has nearly 2,000 parking spaces, including spaces at 14 City lots and a free parking structure. The city lists eight free all-day lots and six lots with four-hour free parking; its parking map shows their locations.
Art and performances
Published estimates of the number of participating artists vary: edhat and NBC Los Angeles report more than 300, while the Ventura Breeze listing says more than 200.
The Ventura Breeze listing names two performance stages: one at the Albinger Archaeological Museum, across from Mission Park, and another at California and Main. It also lists poetry at the Museum of Ventura County Pavilion, street painting, art and pottery demonstrations, film screenings, children’s activities, and a neighborhood art and car show.
NBC Los Angeles also points to the Ventura Community Mandala near Buenaventura Mission and a live map of participating galleries, shops and businesses.
