The alleged shooter, described as wearing all black clothing, took off on the moped traveling southbound on Washington Avenue. The Tremont shooting comes just two days after a similar attack in Allerton. On Monday evening, a 17-year-old boy and his 37-year-old mother were both shot in the leg inside the Astor Laundromat on Astor Avenue near Wallace Avenue, according to the New York Daily News. Police said two men entered the laundromat around 7:15 p.m., opened fire, and fled; each victim was struck once in the right leg and both were taken to Jacobi Hospital in stable condition.
Pattern of Targeted Attacks Remains Murky
Police in the Allerton case said the victims appeared to have been targeted, though it's not clear why, the Daily News reported. The gunman in that shooting fled the scene.
A third recent shooting adds to the string of similar Bronx incidents.
