Two 24-year-old men showed up at a Plymouth hospital with gunshot wounds in the early hours of Sunday, and neither would tell police what happened to them. Plymouth officers had been called out just 20 minutes earlier to a report of shots fired nearby, setting off an investigation that remains unresolved days later.
According to the Albemarle Observer, officers responded to the area of Albemarle Drive around 1:53 a.m. on Sept. 13 after receiving a report of shots fired. About 20 minutes later, police were dispatched to the Emergency Department at Washington Regional Medical Center, where two men with gunshot wounds had already arrived, as WCTI also reported.
Police identified the two as Armon J'Quez McNair, 24, of Williamston, and Naquan Lee Wynne, 24, of Plymouth. McNair was shot in the left foot, while Wynne was shot in the left thigh, per the same account. Both men were later transferred to ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville for further treatment.
Neither Man Would Talk
When officers questioned the two men at the hospital, neither provided any information about what led to the shooting, police said. That silence has left investigators without an account of the incident, and the case remains open days after the shooting.

A Pattern of Shootings in Plymouth
This is not the first shooting to rattle the small Washington County town this year. A July report described a Plymouth weekend shooting that left a teen airlifted for treatment, while a January report detailed a separate shooting in which three people were injured, according to the same source's earlier coverage. An April report also described a fatal shooting under investigation in Plymouth, per a report from WNCT.
No suspect has been identified in connection with Sunday's shooting, and investigators have not released a motive or any description of what led to the gunfire. With both victims declining to cooperate, the case now hinges on tips from the community as Plymouth police continue working to piece together what happened on Albemarle Drive before dawn.
