A vehicle slammed into a Wendy's restaurant in west Louisville, damaging the side of the building and knocking loose part of its brick exterior. The crash happened at the fast-food location in the 3300 block of Cane Run Road.
Damage Spotted Around Midday
According to WLKY, the station's crew saw the damage around noon. The outlet reported that the crash had damaged the side of the building and that a chunk of brick exterior had come off as a result of the impact.
As of the station's report, there was no word on whether anyone was hurt in the crash. The station's coverage did not include details on what caused the vehicle to hit the building or information on the driver.
A Corridor With a Troubled Track Record
Cane Run Road has been the site of other serious incidents in recent months, though none of those cases are connected to Wendy's crash. A 16-year-old girl, Janiah Brown, was struck and killed while crossing Cane Run Road near Teakwood Circle, according to WHAS11. And in December, a woman died after a crash involving a motorized bike on the same road, per WDRB Wave.
Wendy's Plans Nationwide Closures
Wendy's announced in November that it planned to close 140 restaurants nationwide.
It has not been established whether the Wendy's damaged in the crash is the same location previously listed for closure. WLKY's report on the crash did not address the extent of the repair costs, whether the restaurant remained open for business, or whether any citations were issued in connection with the incident.
