William Anderson, 60, of Peshtigo pleaded guilty to three counts of possessing child pornography and was convicted, according to Fox 11’s account of court records. A judge scheduled sentencing for Dec. 4, 2026, and 12 other counts were dismissed as part of the resolution: Fox 11 News.
How the investigation developed
The investigation began in January 2026 after detectives received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, Fox 11 reported. Officers searched Anderson’s Peshtigo home on Feb. 25, 2026, and arrested him as part of an Internet Crimes Against Children investigation, according to WNCY: Fox 11 News; Y100 WNCY.
CyberTip volume in Wisconsin
The case followed a CyberTip referral amid a broader increase in such reports in Wisconsin. According to the Wisconsin Department of Justice, as reported by State Affairs Pro, the state’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received 19,767 CyberTips in 2025, compared with 4,671 in 2021 — an increase of more than 323%.
Fox 11’s report on the criminal complaint said investigators reviewed two years of Anderson’s electronic correspondence and found more than 1,500 explicit images on his devices. Charging history
After the search, detectives referred 23 potential possession counts to the Marinette County district attorney’s office. Prosecutors filed 15 counts and said additional charges could be brought if the case did not resolve, Fox 11 reported.
