A 26-year-old Wills Point man is dead after the SUV he was driving left a rural Hunt County roadway and slammed into a tree just before midnight. Corey Shane Tacker was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on County Road 3609.
According to the Greenville Chronicle, Tacker was driving a 2017 Ford Expedition southbound on County Road 3609 when the crash occurred around midnight on September 19. The SUV departed the roadway before striking the tree, and Tacker died at the scene.

According to FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Worth, Tacker was traveling at an unsafe speed before he lost control of the Ford Expedition. As reported by KLTV, the department's information did not indicate that any other occupants or vehicles were involved in the crash.
