A shooting in Wilmington left one person dead and three others injured, adding to a series of violent incidents reported in the city this month.

The incident comes amid reports of another shooting in Wilmington. A separate report notes a Tuesday morning shooting near East 10th and Spruce streets involving three men ages 23, 40 and 49 and a 53-year-old woman, all found with gunshot wounds and in stable condition. As of that report, no suspect or motive had been announced.
A City Already on Edge From Recent Violence
Wilmington has seen several violent incidents in recent days. Just three days earlier, a shooting near West 2nd and North DuPont streets left an 18-year-old man dead and a 15-year-old boy in critical condition, according to a report from NBC10 Philadelphia. Police told the outlet that officers found the teen dead after responding to the scene, while the younger victim was rushed to a hospital.
These incidents add to the recent violence reported in Wilmington.
Recent Figures Show Declines, but Comparisons Have Limits
The recent shootings occurred against a backdrop of longer-term changes in Wilmington's violence figures, although the available reports do not provide a complete annual breakdown for every category.
