According to The Dallas Morning News, the crash involved somewhere between two and three vehicles, though the exact count could not be confirmed. The unidentified woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while three other people — one man and two women — were taken to hospitals with serious injuries, the newspaper reported, citing Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesperson Jason Evans. Separately, FOX 4 reported that Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to the multi-vehicle wreck at Wadsworth Drive and Great Trinity Forest Way around 5 p.m., confirming that one adult female was pronounced deceased at the scene while two adult females and one adult male were transported with serious injuries.
Five Rescue Units Rushed to the Scene
Dallas Fire-Rescue sent five rescue vehicles and an EMS supervisor to the crash site, per Evans's account relayed by the newspaper. FOX 4 similarly reported that the department dispatched five units and an EMS supervisor to the scene. The fifth rescue vehicle arrived late and, according to Evans, did not end up transporting any patients.
Dallas police were contacted for further details on the crash but did not immediately respond to the newspaper's request for information, leaving the cause of the wreck undetermined as of the initial reporting. The intersection sits along a segment of Great Trinity Forest Way that has drawn scrutiny before. For now, what's confirmed is grim and simple: a woman is dead, three others are recovering from serious injuries, and Dallas Fire-Rescue's rapid five-unit response wasn't enough to prevent the loss of life at an intersection already flagged as one of the city's most hazardous.
