13 Stripes Brewery served its last pints at Taylors Mill last Saturday, closing out a run of nine years and five months at the Taylors industrial complex as it prepares to reopen at a new address in Greenville. The brewery is relocating its taproom and production facility to Hampton Station, the redeveloped Water Tower District property north of downtown, with plans to begin moving equipment the week after its final service day.
A Nine-Year Run Comes to a Close
According to Upstate Business Journal, 13 Stripes marked the occasion with a send-off celebration at its 250 Mill St. home, telling customers in a statement, “After 9 years and 5 months today is our last day of service at Taylors Mill.” The brewery first opened at Taylors Mill in 2017, per The Post and Courier, growing into one of the Upstate's known names for craft beer variety. The brewery also opened a second location, 13 Stripes River Lodge in Easley, in 2021, but owners closed that outpost in March 2024, the same report notes.
The Taylors Mill space the brewery is vacating measures roughly 8,000 square feet, and the property's managers are now looking for a new tenant to fill it, according to the same report. Taylors Mill overall remains more than 95% leased and is home to nearly 70 businesses, per SCBiz, so the space likely won't sit empty long even as 13 Stripes moves on.
What's Waiting at Hampton Station
The new home for 13 Stripes sits at 1320 Hampton Ave. Extension, a 9,000-square-foot space that's noticeably larger than the brewery's old Taylors Mill footprint. The property previously housed Birds Fly South Ale Project and White Duck Taco as anchor tenants, the Post and Courier's report states, and it now sits beside The Yard, the outdoor community space that owner Abacus Capital recently renovated with new landscaping and gathering areas.
Per Hampton Station's own project page, the brewery's new home sits right alongside The Yard, with plans for an expanded taproom, a full food program, live music, and robust events programming. SCBiz adds that the surrounding green space now features a family-friendly putt-putt course and picnic seating, positioning the brewery's reopening alongside a broader push to make the district a gathering spot. Aaron Robinson, owner and chief operating officer of 13 Stripes Brewery, is quoted in the SCBiz report discussing the move, though the outlet's account centers on the location change itself rather than detailed plans for the buildout.
Timeline Questions Remain
Exactly when the doors will open at Hampton Station isn't entirely settled. The Post and Courier reported the new location was slated to open in spring 2026, while Upstate Business Journal, citing a business social media post, said 13 Stripes plans to reopen at Hampton Station before the end of 2026. Neither outlet's reporting explains the discrepancy, and the brewery hasn't publicly addressed the gap between the two timelines.
What is clear is that the move has been in motion for some time — the brewery announced its plan to relocate to the Hampton Avenue site back in 2025, well ahead of last Saturday's closing service at Taylors Mill. For now, Upstate beer drinkers will have to wait for an update on exactly when 13 Stripes pours its first pint at its new Water Tower District home.
