A 25-year-old woman walked into a Northwest Baltimore medical center late Wednesday night with a gunshot wound, setting off a police investigation that traced the shooting back to a stretch of Garrison Boulevard. Officers determined her injury was not life-threatening, but detectives are still working to piece together exactly what happened and why.

According to Fox45 News, officers arrived at the medical center around 11:52 p.m. on September 30 and found the woman already there, suffering from a gunshot wound that did not threaten her life. Police went on to determine that she had actually been shot elsewhere, in the 3800 block of Garrison Boulevard, before making her way to the hospital.

Investigators later located a crime scene in that same block, the station reports, though it remains unclear how long it took them to pin down the exact location once the woman arrived seeking treatment. Northwest District detectives are now urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.

Detectives Seek Tips as Garrison Boulevard Sees Repeat Violence

Anyone with details is asked to call Northwest District detectives at 410-396-2466 or reach out anonymously to Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP, per the same account. No suspect, motive, or weapon has been publicly identified in connection with the case.

This is not the first time that stretch of road has drawn police attention. On January 17, 2025, Northwest District officers responded to the 3500 block of W. Garrison Boulevard after multiple calls reported gunfire, according to the Baltimore Police Department. Officers in that earlier case found an unidentified male victim with gunshot wounds who was transported to an area hospital, and detectives issued the same call for tips, using the identical phone numbers now being circulated in this latest case.

Separate Reports Describe More Recent Violence Nearby

Garrison Boulevard has also been the site of more recent bloodshed. Baltimore Police responded around 7:42 p.m. to a report of a man lying in the street in the 3400 block of Garrison Boulevard, where officers found a 47-year-old man who had been shot in the upper body and was taken to a local hospital, according to WMAR-2 News, which listed him as being in critical condition. A separate WMAR tracker of city violence lists an entry stating a 47-year-old was shot and killed in the same 3400 block on August 20, 2026; the available reporting does not clarify how these two accounts relate to each other.

The shooting comes as Baltimore continues to see an overall decline in gun violence this year. The city recorded seven homicides and 28 non-fatal shootings in July 2026 alone, per WMAR-2 News's tracking of city data. Citywide, homicides were down 23.1 percent in 2026 compared to 2025 — 50 versus 65 — while non-fatal shootings fell 2.5 percent, from 160 to 156, the station reports.

City officials have pointed to enforcement efforts as part of that trend. As of August 29, Baltimore Police Department officers had seized more than 1,367 firearms, including 138 ghost guns, and made 826 gun arrests so far this year, according to a statement from Mayor Brandon M. Scott's office. For now, the woman shot on Garrison Boulevard is expected to recover, but investigators have not said whether they have identified a suspect in her case.
